Request Hour!
We have 4 Bayside headline shows coming up in June as well as the solo shows I’m playing. We decided that for those 4 shows, we’re going to do a fully fan requested set. We’ve already been getting tons of messages with requests so keep them coming. We’re going to compile all the most requested songs and that will be our set for those 4 shows. This should be a lot of fun. We’re going to be playing a lot of songs that we rarely play, haven’t played in years or have just never played ever. Dust off those old EPs everyone.
June 11th - Altoona, PA @ Eldolyn Terrace
June 12th - Eerie, PA @ Forward Hall
June 13th - Syracuse, NY @ Westcott Theater
June 14th - Albany, NY @ Northern Lights
you can send requests to www.myspace.com/anthonyraneri or www.twitter.com/anthonyraneri

It’s that time again. Our tour with New Found Glory is starting to wind down and I’m going to have some down time before we start Warped Tour so I’m going to do a solo show in Hoboken, NJ and a couple down in Florida. As much fun as we’re having on this tour, it’s always nice to take a break from the big clubs and the buses. Get back in the car with some friends, play whatever I want, sell my own merch and hang with the fans. It’s pretty rare now adays that I can just hang at the merch table and meet every single person that comes to the shows so I’m looking forward to these shows.
Tickets are available now for the shows!
June 18 - Hoboken, NJ @ Maxwells w/Vinny Caruana (I Am the Avalanche, Movielife) and Destry (ex Straylight Run)

I’ve been calling for punk rock judgement day for a while now. I talk all sorts of shit about fake punk bands or just total pop bands masquerading in our scene. It’s like if Hanson put on vans slip ons and got tattoos. I really think it’s because the 90’s gave traditional pop such a bad name, they needed a new outfit for pop bands to sneak it in under the our radars. And they’re exploiting the shit out of us fans and people who grew up really appreciating and depending on this scene. If you don’t write your songs, you’re not a band. You’re a pop group. And I think a lot of people would be surprised ow many “bands” don’t. All the information is available online in title searches through Ascap.com, BMI.com and Sesac.com. But I am confident that one day a rain will come and clean things up around here. When the underground becomes the mainstream, there has to be a new underground and for that there has to be some new champions of it. I’ve been listening to a lot of Red Scare Records bands lately. I think that this label and labels like it and bands like the ones on it will be the future of punk and I’m excited for it. Hell, we might already be living in the future of punk. More bands playing honest shit with pure intentions. Everyone pay attention. You don’t want to miss it.

This is a pretty crazy idea. You wear that weird robe thing with a pattern cut out and it gives you that pattern as a suntan. Man, people invent the strangest shit huh? We watched this thing on the food network last night called “Kitchen Appliences of the Future”. It seems like more people are trying to invent the next pet rock then people are trying to invent the next microwave. Is it just easier to come up with a gimmick that you can cash out on fast then come up with something that would really change the world? probably. I’m going to invent a tree that grows money on it

1 year ago • 25 notesI guess I’ve been kind of a monster lately. I’m going to do some shout outs. Pop music has pretty much hijacked our scene but one day it will move on to the next trend and we can have our scene back. Here are some bands that I think will be kicking ass when judgment day comes. These are all bands that have either sent me messages asking me to check them out, I’ve stumbled across their page for whatever reason or we’ve played a show with and they blew me away. Check them out
- Wayward - www.myspace.com/waywardrockmusic - These guys sent me a message a few days ago and I’m glad I checked them out. They prove that a band can be catchy as hell and not souless and predictable. A good little kick in the ass too. Check out “She’s Got Me”
- The Menzingers - www.myspace.com/themenzingers - They opened for a solo show I did last year in Wilkes-Barre, PA and have been one of my favorite up and coming bands ever since. Got to know them better over the last year and as well as being a kick as band, they have the purest of intentions and define “keeping it real”.
- The Sidekicks - www.myspace.com/sidekicks - I was going through the lineup for the Windy City Soundclash festival in Chicago checking out the bands that were playing and really liked the stuff the have on their myspace. You can always count on the midwest to produce catchy melodies sung with ballsy raspy voices.
- The Urgency - www.myspace.com/theurgency - We played in Albany and Portland with these guys before. Someone’s gotta represent for Vermont right? “Fingertips” has been stuck in my head for about 5 days straight. So good. Great live too
- Title Fight - www.myspace.com/titlefight - Awesome punk/hardcore band from PA. I’m not a huge modern hardcore fan but these guys do it the old school way. It probably wont be long before the groundwork that Four Year Strong and Set Your Goals have laid for this genre will pay off for Title Fight. Stoked
- A Loss For Words - www.myspace.com/alossforwords - THE hardest working band in the scene. The guys are constantly on the road, whether or not they have shows. Got to know Matty while he was following the Warped Tour in ‘07 just selling AL4W cds. All the work seems to be finally paying off. The new stuff they’ve recorded is great and it’s only going to get better. These guys want nothing more then to play
I passed 1000 Tumblr followers! My parents are going to be so proud. I want to thank the Academy, God and my agent. Couldn’t have done it without you guys. Thanks!
